Working even harder

John Witherden, Managing Director at Aworth Survey Consultants, has been with the company through two recessions, which he describes as ‘at times, very difficult’, as well as the uncertainty of Brexit. But, the current Covid-19 pandemic he says is ‘even more testing’.

“This situation is unprecedented and very challenging,” he says. “We have put systems in place and are hoping that, when the time is right, we will be back to working on site with our clients and fellow professionals.”

This year, John marks 45 years with Aworth, having joined straight from school.

“I started to think seriously about a career in Land Surveying when I was studying for my A Levels,” says John. “It offered me the chance to work outside, with technical equipment and in different places.”

John’s career with the company progressed quickly and he was promoted to Surveyor, Technical Manager and Technical Director, before becoming MD in 1999.

He has held the position of Vice President of The Survey Association and is a Chartered Surveyor and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors.

“Once we are through this pandemic, then Aworth will be ready and working even harder than ever to ensure our clients get a fantastic service from us,” John adds.
