The space to work
December 18, 2020
Since March 2020 many of us have been working from home and this trend looks set to continue for a while yet. As this situation continues, more people are looking to move their office from a spare bedroom or even the dining room table to a more permanent arrangement – maybe creating office space in the garden (or even a home gym or room for a newly-discovered lockdown hobby).
There are a wide variety of options from more basic shed-type spaces to much more sophisticated cabin builds using brick, stone or plastic perhaps.
Since the beginning of lockdown, our MAPS department, MAPS@Aworth, has seen a sharp increase in activity, much of it linked to people looking to erect office buildings on their land. Not all of these spaces need planning permission. However, it depends on each property as to whether it is needed and whether it’s considered a shed or an extension.
If you suspect that you will need planning permission and you might need a map of your grounds for any plans, then do get in touch. Through our MAPS@Aworth Ordnance Survey Mapping and Data Centre, we can supply up-to-date OS mapping data, planning application maps and historical OS mapping, together with a large range of other professional map products, including maps for events you might be organising.
If you’re not entirely sure what you need, then we can help. You’ll be able to discuss your precise requirements with our experienced advisers to get the right extent of mapping, available in a range of scales and page sizes. Our bespoke service means we will source the map you need and send it out to very quickly.
