Housebuilding | King’s Weald

While Aworth works on many new projects throughout the UK, as our local villages and towns have seen further housing development over the past few years, we’ve also been working across the South-East, providing pre-construction and construction surveying support to a number of these projects. 

We’ve worked with our client Croudace Homes on its King’s Weald housing development in Burgess Hill, for more than ten years, having originally been commissioned to undertake a topographical survey of the site in 2010. 

Our involvement has included producing 3D digital ground models in PDS format for terrain modelling and measured building record survey drawings of the historical buildings of the tile works.

Planning consent was granted on 30 April 2010 to enable the remodelling of the site to create a suitable development platform for 475 dwellings, associated infrastructure and a new community leisure centre.

Built on a 19-hectare brownfield land, which was formerly the home of The Keymer Tile Works, we have returned regularly over the years to provide services including foundation loading monitoring, site control, updated topographical surveys and underground services surveys. Our most recent work has included soil mound volume calculations and setting-out of balancing ponds and infrastructure.

Recently we have been working closely with number of developers which have been developing on brownfield sites to provide infill housing, as well as social housing within existing developments.

Our pre-construction support includes land surveys of the site for designing, planning and submitting masterplans and submissions; to establish primary survey control; and to set-out conservation corridors and tree protection. 

During construction stage, we provide setting-out services for new roads, house plots and drainage to be built; and to record as built roads, houses and boundaries.
